New documentary examines impact of most recent clerical sexual abuse allegations in United States

Starting in the summer of 2018, the wound of clerical sexual abuse in the Church was ripped open yet again in the United States. The double blow of allegations of years of inappropriate behaviour by ex-Cardinal Timothy McCarrick alongside the revelations of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report left many Catholics reeling.
A Church in Crisis, a new documentary from Catholic News Service, looks in-depth at what these developments mean for the Catholic Church ahead of February's worldwide summit on child protection at the Vatican.
Featuring interviews with subject matter experts, abuse survivors, bishops, victims' rights advocates, and priests, this hour-long program is a must-see for anyone looking to educate themselves about what can be done to find healing and demand greater accountability in the wake of scandal.

A Church in Crisis premieres on Salt + Light Television Saturday, January 19 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT.
