How can two people with the same upbringing end up with completely different beliefs? Deacon Pedro speaks with T.J. and Chrisandra. They are a brother and sister who grew up in a Catholic household, but as adults, she is active in her faith and works as a campus minister, and he is not even sure he believes in God.

There are many lay movements and associations in the Church that aim to help people in their spiritual journeys. Many of them are dedicated to working with youth. One of them is Jesus Youth.

We tend to think that when the Church speaks about youth or young people they mean adolescents, but many of these young people are adults. They are professionals, and they are parents. Some of them are even priests!

The pre-synodal document made mention of how the Church needs to be better at using the Internet and social media in order to evangelize. This synod was the first to have a social media team. This week we speak to two of its members: Allyson and Prevain.

Do we see the Catholic Church as the Church for Catholics, or can we say that it’s the Catholic Church for everyone? Is the pope the Catholic pope for the whole world, or is he just the pope for Catholics? How do those outside of the Church in other faiths see the Catholic Church?

There are many reasons why young people feel attracted to the Catholic Church. Do they feel that the Church answers some of their fundamental questions or that the Church addresses their needs? Is it the sense of belonging, the teachings, the ritual, or the Mass? Deacon Pedro speaks with two young (recent) converts to find out.
