The St. Josephine Bakhita students loved the “beloved” Dominican Sisters! Archbishop Thomas Collins, Fr. Thomas Rosica, C.S.B. and the Dominican Sisters brought the light of Jesus with them on April 4th. We felt like we were among old friends, talking about the Lord we all love. Their light and their spirit were infectious and we left the day ready to spread the Good News of Our Lord.
When we watched the film Beloved, we learned about the process of how to become a Nashville Dominican. The sisters are very humble and kind--they were always smiling! It was nice to see examples of different nuns and why they chose to become nuns. Two great examples were the nun who was previously a lawyer and another who had been a ballerina. We were amazed by how committed they are to Jesus and how they want to create a little piece of Heaven on earth. We will never forget them.
That evening, we went to an amazing WYD rally at St. Paul’s Basilica and Palm Sunday Mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral. The basilica was absolutely gorgeous. It had all these beautiful paintings on the ceiling and a huge organ. Then at the cathedral, we had never seen so many priests giving a mass all at once. It was magical!
St. Josephine Bakhita wants to give a special thanks to Salt + Light Television for inviting us to this special event. You treated us so great!
