A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to meet with Canadian sculptor Timothy Schmalz and talk to him about the inspiration behind a massive new 22-foot sculpture that he's currently working on called Let the Oppressed Go Free. Timothy made headlines around the world when one of his art pieces, a massive three-ton sculpture depicting 140 migrants and refugees was unveiled at St. Peter’s Square on the 105th World Day of Migrants and Refugees last September. Since then, I wanted to meet with him, thinking that it would be a great opportunity to film a segment for our monthly show, behold.  He agreed to meet with us to talk about his newest piece, so off we went, embarking early in the morning on a 1.5-hour journey from Toronto to his studio in Elmira, Ontario. Needless to say, the entire crew and I were completely amazed by what we saw: the first stage of what is to be a giant 22-foot-long sculpture, on the third floor of a massive turn-of-the-century factory building.  What a sight!
