This week on the SLHour we bring you the fourth episode of our mini-series Indigenous Voices in which we meet Indigenous people and learn from their stories, traditions, legends, languages, and cultures. This week we meet Ginni Peters, Gerald Phillips, and Vange Point – a mother and sister, a brother and uncle, and a daughter and niece from the Stó:lo Nation in British Columbia who teach us the importance of language and family.

Indigenous Voices is the result of the many conversations about healing and reconciliation that arose after the news of the discovery of possible unmarked graves at former residential school sites in Canada. It is our hope that through meeting our guests and hearing their stories about the people, the land, traditions, legends, languages, and cultures, our hearts will be opened in a way that will lead to true healing and true reconciliation.
