Pope Francis will make his 36th apostolic journey abroad to Malta on April 2 & 3.
The theme of this visit is They Showed Us Unusual Kindness (Acts 28:2) . The visit will highlight the dangerous journeys displaced people embark upon when crossing the Mediterranean Sea.
The theme is also linked to the generous reception St. Paul received in 60 AD when he was shipwrecked upon the shores of Malta.
The Holy Father's visit will include a visit to the Grotto of St. Paul at the basilica in Rabat and a prayer meeting at the National Shrine of Ta'Pinu.

Pope Francis will make a pastoral visit to Venice on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He will fly up in the early morning and meet with inmates and staff of the Women's Prison of Giudecca. He will then tour the Holy See's pavilion of the Biennale Arte, Venice's international contemporary art festival, which is also in the prison, and address the pavilion's artists and participants in the prison chapel.
He will then transit to the Basilica of Maria Della Salute to meet with young people from the wider Veneto Region, and finally proceed to St. Mark's Square for Holy Mass and his weekly Regina Caeli address.
