1. KEY DATES:  

The Forge Giveaway (the “Contest”) is brought to you by Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation (the “Sponsor”) and begins on September 10, 2024 at 12:00 am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on September 18, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET (the “Contest Period”).  For the purposes of these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”), a “Day” is defined as commencing at 12:00 pm ET and ending at 11:59 am ET on the following day, except for the Contest start and end dates.

2. ELIGIBILITY:

This Contest is open to residents of Canada, excluding residents of the province of Quebec. 

You must be 18 years old at the time of participation in the Contest; except employees, representatives, agents, officers or directors (and those with whom such persons are living, whether related or not) of the Sponsor, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual(s), entity or entities involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”). 

Participants must have online access with a valid email address at the time of entry.

3. AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY RULES:

By participating in this Contest, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these Rules.

The Contest Parties, Facebook, Instagram, X, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed or incomplete requests (all of which are void).

4. HOW TO ENTER: 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  To enter the Contest, complete the form on the online giveaway landing page: https://www.slmedia.org/giveaway  

Only one entry is allowed. Online entries must be received by 11:59 PM ET on the Contest end date to be considered entered for a chance to win. By registering to win, the participant agrees to receive future promos, solicitations, and other emails from the Sponsor. Participants can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in future emails. Additionally, information collected from entrants will be used for the purpose of the prize drawings and to notify winners.

5. VERIFICATION:

We may need to verify your entry at any time for any reason. To ensure everything runs smoothly and fairly, we might ask for proof of your identity or eligibility—like a government-issued photo ID. This could be to confirm that you're eligible to enter, to check that your entry is valid, or for any other reason that helps us manage the contest according to the rules. If you're asked to provide proof, please make sure to do so within the time specified, or we may have to disqualify your entry. Please note that only the Sponsor's official time-keeping system will be used to determine contest timing. Screenshots or attempts to submit your entry won't count as proof of successful entry or receipt by the Sponsor.

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any individual that it deems to be in violation of these Rules, whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is otherwise ineligible to enter,or who acts in any manner to threaten or abuse or harass any person and to void all such person's Entries.

6. PRIZES: 

There are four (4) prizes (the “Prize”) available to be won, containing two (2) digital passes to see The Forge in Cineplex theatres in Canada.

Each Prize has an approximate retail value of $30.00 CDN.

The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable, or convertible to cash. No substitutions.No substitution, transfer, or cash alternative is permitted. The odds of winning any prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. All other costs not specifically stated herein are the responsibility of the winners.

7. ELIGIBLE PRIZE WINNER SELECTION PROCESS:

On September 20, 2024 (the “Prize Draw Date”) in Toronto, Ontario at approximately 11:00 am ET, four (4) eligible entrants will be selected by random draw from among all eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules. The odds of winning a Prize depend on the number of eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules. 

8. WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCESS:

The four (4) winners who are randomly selected on September 20, 2024 will be notified via email within 24 hours. If the eligible winners do not respond by September 23, 2024 at 4:00 pm ET or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable and/or if any correspondence is not responded to; then he/she may be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate eligible winner in accordance with the applicable procedures as outlined in these Rules (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected eligible winner).

9. WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS: 

No one will be considered a winner until the Sponsor has officially confirmed them as such, in accordance with the rules—even if they've already been announced as a potential winner.

a. SKILL TESTING QUESTION.

Before being declared AS A CONFIRMED PRIZE winner, an eligible winner is required to have correctly answered a skill-testing question. Sponsor will provide the skill-testing question to selected winning participants.

10. CONTEST ADMINISTRATION:

The Sponsor, Representatives and their respective agents, and affiliates are not responsible for printing, technical errors, distribution, or production errors and do not guarantee or warrant that access to or use of the Contest will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for any website failures, technical issues, or errors during the contest, including problems with internet or equipment, whether their own or yours. They are also not liable for any incorrect identification of winners, injuries, or damage to devices from participating. If more prizes are claimed than available due to an error, the Sponsor may cancel the contest or conduct a random draw to award the correct number of prizes. The Sponsor can adjust the contest dates or rules if needed, and reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the contest due to any unforeseen issues, including fraud or tampering. Any attempt to disrupt the contest may result in legal action. Finally, the Sponsor may adjust the skill-testing question as required by law or circumstances.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS:  

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal.

By participating in the Contest and accepting a Prize, each eligible winner hereby: (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the applicable Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the applicable Prize or any portion therefore. The Sponsor may, in its sole and absolute discretion, require an eligible winner to sign and return the Sponsor's form of declaration and release prior to confirming the eligible winner as a confirmed winner in accordance with these Rules.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules or the rights and obligations of participants, Sponsor or any of the other the Released Parties in connection with the Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the domestic laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction's laws. The parties hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Ontario in any action to enforce (or otherwise relating to) these Rules or relating to this Contest.
