Or at least it's a little earlier than what would normally be that time of year. It's time for most of us in Canada to spring forward! (I say most as my colleague Gillian, a native of Saskatchewan, reminded me that parts of B-C and most of her province does not spring forward or fall back!)
So don't forget when you go to bed tonight, Saturday March 10th, to set your clocks ahead one hour
for daylight saving time. (You don't want to arrive at the end
of Sunday Mass!)
Though not entirely related, the changing of time reminded me of an encounter I had several years ago.
I was out on a Saturday night with a friend. Short on cash, we decided to use a bank machine that was housed in a little alcove attached to the bank – I’m sure you know the kind I’m talking about, the ones that allow you to access the cash machines at any hour of the day. Anyway, in that little area was an unkempt man in tattered clothes sitting on the floor.
“Got any change?” he asked.
“No, sorry. We don’t have any change.” was our reply, and we continued on with our conversation.
As he moved into a napping position on the floor, I heard heard him mutter to himself, “We could all use a little change.”
Think about it.
