God in the City: Catholic Journalism Summer Intensive 2025

Canadian Catholic News is offering an in-person intensive experience of its popular online course, “Telling Truth in Charity: Introduction to Catholic Journalism” this summer.
This fast-paced seminar is for journalists and aspiring journalists who want to learn or refine their skills in faith-based reporting for Catholic media. Participants will benefit from one-on-one mentoring. Their work will be published at the end of the seminar!
Important Information
    • The seminar will be held at the beautiful Serra House in the heart of downtown Toronto. Participants will arrange their own travel to and from the seminar.
    • Tuition is $1,500 CAD, and includes the full program, room and board, payable by cheque or bank transfer. A surcharge will be applied when paying online with a credit card.
    • Full and partial scholarships are available. Indicate the need for a scholarship when applying.
    • Participants will arrive Sunday, August 10, and depart Saturday, August 16.
    • Participants must bring their own notebooks, laptop and cameras.
    • There will be two sessions each day, including lectures and seminar-style discussions, followed by hands-on reporting assignments in the city. Students’ work will be published. Fluency in English is a requirement.

On May 18, 2025, Pope Leo XIV inaugurated his pontificate with Holy Mass in St. Peter's Square. In his homily, he said, "I come to you as a brother, who desires to be the servant of your faith and your joy, walking with you on the path of God’s love, for he wants us all to be united in one family."
