Evangelizing the culture, one lecture at a time

Andrew Santos

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

It's lights, camera, action at Toronto's St. Basil's Church on September 28.
Fr. Robert Barron, one of the Church's best messengers, is rolling into town to give the John M. Kelly Lecture in Theology. Scheduled for 7:00pm, his talk will address the theme "To Evangelize the Culture."
Fr. Barron is widely known as an acclaimed author, speaker and theologian. He is currently the Francis Cardinal George Professor of Faith and Culture at Mundelein Seminary, near Chicago, Illinois. As the founder of Word on Fire, he is the creator and host of CATHOLICISM, a ten-part documentary series and study program about the Catholic faith.
He earned a Master's Degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America in 1982, before being ordained to the priesthood four years later. In 1992, he received his doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris. He then went on to teach systematic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary.
As co-host of the lecture, S+L will air Fr. Barron's address on Sunday, October 23 at 8:30pm ET. Visit our website and schedule for repeat broadcast times.
All are welcome to attend tomorrow's lecture. St. Basil's Church is located at 50 St. Joseph St. (north of Wellesley St., just off of Bay St).
