This year, Development and Peace is celebrating its 50 year anniversary with the Pilgrimage of the Solidarity Quilt.
For the 2017 Lenten campaign, D&P launched a collaborative quilt project where each diocese in Canada has been asked to create a patch in honour of Development and Peace’s anniversary.
The patches will form a quilt that will be completed in autumn 2017, when the organization will mark 50 years of solidarity work with the Global South.
The first quilt patches are being prepared in British Columbia and Newfoundland, and celebrations will be held before the patches travel to other dioceses where they will be added to form the quilt.
Today S+L, we had the privilege of seeing the quilt first-hand as Luke Stocking, the Animator for Central Ontario Region brought it to our studios for a private look.
