Pope Francis resumed his weekly cycle of catechesis during his General Audience. Continuing his series on "The Spirit and the Bride," he said that our belief that the Virgin Mary “'was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit' (Matthew 1:18) is the foundation that enables us to speak of Mary as the quintessential Bride, who is a figure of the Church."

In his weekly General Audience, Pope Francis paused his cycle of catecheses on "The Spirit and the Bride" to reflect on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He said that a "key way to counter drug abuse and trafficking is through prevention, which is done by promoting greater justice, educating young people in values that build personal and community life, accompanying those in need, and giving hope for the future."

In his weekly General Audience, Pope Francis continued his catechesis on "The Spirit and the Bride." Reflecting on his comment that he hopes 2024 will be a "a great ‘symphony’ of prayer" in advance of the Jubilee 2025, he said that "the Church already possesses a symphony of prayer, whose composer is the Holy Spirit, and it is the Book of Psalms."
