Fr. Haig Chahinian began as CEO of Salt + Light Media on December 1, 2024. He grew up in Toronto, and was formed in the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Armenian Catholic Church, one of 23 sui iuris Eastern Churches in communion with the Holy See. He was ordained a priest of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Nareg in the United States of America and Canada in August, 2024.
Along with his Armenian Catholic ministry, Fr. Haig serves the broader Catholic community with a comprehensive understanding of both Eastern and Western Catholic traditions. He attended St. Michael's College School in Toronto under the Basilian Fathers, and holds a baccalaureate from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He is currently completing his graduate dissertation at Regis College at the University of Toronto, focusing on bridging Western and Eastern Catholic Fundamental Theology.
Fr. Haig's theological formation is complemented by his extensive background in Catholic broadcasting, marketing, and digital media. While in Rome, he led Telepace Armenia, a pillar of the Telepace Catholic broadcasting network in Italy. Prior to entering seminary, he obtained a degree in International Relations and Economics, and held a key management role at the Canadian subsidiary of a major global technology company.
He brings a unique blend of pastoral insight, academic rigor, and innovative thinking, and is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Armenian. He offers his distinctive combination of pastoral wisdom and media experience to advance Salt + Light Media's mission of evangelization through contemporary communications.
