教宗意外出現婚禮並為新人舉行婚配聖事

2018年7月14日週六，教宗方濟各在梵蒂岡內的聖斯德望堂為一名瑞士衛兵和一名巴西女孩舉行了婚禮。在毫不知情的狀況下，巴西籍的雷納托（Renato Dos Santos）神父和在場人士對於教宗的出現感到驚喜。事後，雷納托神父向《梵蒂岡新聞網》表示:「當我進入祭衣房準備婚禮時，看到教宗面帶微笑地坐在那裡等候。在我的生命中從未想過，能在祭衣房裡碰到教宗。」

雷納托神父接著說:「參加婚禮的人彼此問道，他們看到的那人真的是教宗方濟各嗎？我所看到的教宗就如同一位真正的本堂神父一樣，細心照顧堂區裡的羊群。他一直是這麼做的。」

為了度圓滿的婚姻生活，教宗在彌撒講道中提到三個關鍵詞，即「開始」、「停下來」和「繼續前行」。雷納托神父對此表示:「這體現了教宗非常關心婚姻的價值。在他內有一種對婚姻聖事的關愛，該聖事組成了一個渴望把天主放在中心位置的家庭。」
