天主教會臺灣地區主教團祕書處祕書長陳科神父接受天主教真理電台訪問時說：「為協助牧者在同道偕行的旅程中，與非正常婚姻者相遇。聖座教義部部長費爾南德斯於12月18日公布經由教宗批准的《懇求的信賴》聲明（Fiducia supplicans）中指出，降福不只是一個人為的動作，表示友好，降福也是祈求賜下悔改及成聖的恩寵。」
