Digital Marketing Associate

With offices in Toronto, Montréal and New York City, Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation, a Canadian registered charity, devoted to spreading the Light of Christ to the world through television, social media, podcasts, print and other forms of digital communication in English, French, Cantonese and Mandarin. Its specialty television network, Salt + Light TV, is carried across Canada on all major cable carriers, satellite TV, online, Roku and Amazon Fire.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Associate will work collaboratively with members of the marketing department and as part of several cross-functional teams to plan, develop and implement Salt + Light Media’s marketing, communications and sales strategies for both the English and French language markets. The incumbent sets goals, monitors work and evaluates results to ensure that departmental objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the Foundation. 

Role and Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Associate will:

  • Manage our video content platform, ensuring content is up to date on our web and OTT apps (Roku and Amazon Fire).
  • Develop digital marketing strategies and campaigns to expand our video content platform’s audience. 
  • Responsible for google analytics monitoring and reporting
  • Provide technical expertise and reports on the impact of marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze data from our digital platforms (linear television, on demand, digital media and social media) that successfully deliver key information and insights about Salt + Light Media and its content.
  • Create and deliver regular social media, website and OTT analytics reports, providing insights and KPIs. 
  • Work with the Marketing department to create and develop strategies that effectively increase engagement and followers across all our platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to track data and integrate metrics from different platforms to find growth opportunities for Salt + Light Media
  • Create and implement tagging strategies through Google Adwords/Keywords SEO
  • Identify and evaluate digital marketing services and how they may be of benefit to Salt + Light Media
  • Create sponsored ads for our target audience.
  • Perform occasional website updates
  • Monitor Daily Mass on Facebook Live
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in marketing/business/commerce or a related field
  • 1- 2 years of experience in marketing analytics and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with digital dashboards, tracking, monitoring and consolidating campaigns results
  • Able to analyze data and generate insightful metrics reports
  • Proficient use of the following tools: Google Analytics, Google Ads Editor, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Ads, social media tracking tools
  • Ability to confidently share a point-of-view and support it using insights and data
  • Awareness of business issues, industry/consumer trends, market status, and competition
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated willingness to take initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with email marketing platforms and marketing automation campaigns, an asset
  • Written and oral communication skills in French
  • Knowledge of marketing television programming, blogging, vlogging;
  • Experience in not-for-profit marketing and fundraising

Salary/Income

This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary will be determined based on experience.

Note: This position will be based out of our office located at 250 Davisville Avenue in Toronto, Ontario.

However due to COVID-19 restrictions this position will work from home until work resumes at our midtown Toronto location.
