Tonight on Perspectives: What will the Church look like in 50 years?

Jenna Murphy

Friday, October 8, 2010

Do you ever wonder what the Church will look like in 50 years?
Smaller? Stronger? Persecuted? Poor?
Some people have their ideas, but at the end of the day, one can only hope and pray. Unless of course you’re in the engine room at the Vatican with a privileged view from the inside.
And such is the case for this week’s guest on Perspectives.John Allen
John Allen is the Vatican correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and a Vatican analyst for CNN and National Public Radio. Or, maybe you’re familiar with his weekly NCR column, “All Things Catholic”, which is widely considered to be the best source of breaking news and Church analysis in the English language.
In his most recent book, The Future Church, John Allen proposes the 10 trends that he believes will change the face of the Church as we know it.
What are his projections you ask?
I guess you’ll just have to tune in and see….or read his book. But first, you should tune in.
Join us for a featured chat with Vaticanista, John Allen tonight at 7pm ET (8pm PT), or the encore presentation Sunday, October 10th at the same times.
