Tonight on Perspectives: How do you live ecumenism?

Jenna Murphy

Friday, April 1, 2011

Christ asks us to do it. In fact, He prays that we will.
Ecumenism, how do we live it?
This was the question we asked you, our viewers throughout the past week.
John Stein writes via Facebook: “To see ecumenism as a pre-existing reality in the mind of God, accomplished by Christ Jesus. We must mend our nets to participate in real time in this tremendous haul, for the souls of all humanity.”
Indeed, this is Christ's great prayer on the night before He died. " ..That they may all become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved then even as you have loved me. " (Jn 17: 23) How do we actively pursue this oneness and by doing so, contribute to the fulfillment of the prayer of Christ?
Allison Davies writes: “One of my best friends recently left the Catholic Church to join a protestant denomination. We butt heads on several issues, but I find that the more we love one another, the more we understand that our disagreements only challenge us to be truer to ourselves.
Tonight on Perspectives Weekly host Pedro Guevara Mann sits down with Colleen MacAlister, a third order Franciscan and foundress of the San Damiano Foundation and Pastor Greg Dyson of Church in the Acres in Massachusetts. Pastor Greg is also the Chaplain at Springfield College. Colleen and Pastor Greg have been collaborating in youth ministry across borders for years; borders both geographic and denominational! Tune in tonight at 7 and 11PM ET, 8 PM PT for a hopeful discussion  you won’t want to miss.
