Think being Catholic is just going to Mass on Sunday? You may want to reconsider that thought after Wednesday's episode of Catholic Focus (airing at 7pm and 11pm ET, with a Saturday repeat at the same times)
As you may have read on this blog
, myself, associate producer Kris Dmytrenko, and cameraman Wally Tello headed down to New York City in May to cover a symposium sponsored by the Holy See Mission. The conference examined what the Holy See Mission does at the United Nations, and exposed college and university students to Catholic social teaching.
The above picture is of Kris interviewing His Excellency, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, the Holy See's Permanent Observer to the United Nations. We had the opportunity to speak with Archbishop Migliore, other members of the Holy See Mission, and conference participants. The end result will be a program this summer or fall which takes an indepth look at this symposium.
In the meantime though, Kris joined me on the Catholic Focus set to discuss our experience and reflect on this unforgettable week. In this episode of Catholic Focus we'll hear from those involved with the Holy See Mission (including Archbishop Migliore), learn about what the Holy See Mission is, and why they are sponsoring a Catholic social teaching seminar. We'll also hear about the impact the symposium had on some of the participants. By the end of the week long conference, many participants saw the Church in a new light. Perhaps after this episode, you will too.
