S+L Coverage of Pope in Portugal Begins Tuesday Morning

The faithful of Portugal will have a special guest when they celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Fatima this year.
POPE-AUDIENCEFrom Tuesday, May 11th to Friday, May 14th, Pope Benedict XVI will journey to Portugal.
He'll mark the 93rd anniversary of the apparitions of Fátima, the 68th anniversary of consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the 10th anniversary of the beatification of Jacinta and Francisco, two of the visionaries of Fatima.
Our live coverage begins Tuesday at 6am ET with the Pope's arrival in Lisbon.  The highlight of the trip will likely be when the Holy Father travels to Fatima on Wednesday and Thursday -- the feast of Our Lady of Fatima is on Thursday.  He wraps up his voyage on Friday in the city of Porto.  For a full broadcast schedule of the events of the trip visit our Portugal page HERE.
Your live coverage host will be Matthew Harrison.  Fr. On May 18, 2025, Pope Leo XIV inaugurated his pontificate with Holy Mass in St. Peter's Square. In his homily, he said, "I come to you as a brother, who desires to be the servant of your faith and your joy, walking with you on the path of God’s love, for he wants us all to be united in one family."
