Pope2You Off to a Great Start

As a follow-up to Sunday's entry about Pope2You.Net -- the Vatican is reporting that in its first day of operation the website received half a million visits.
Webmaster Father Paolo Padrini of Vatican Radio, said the site is intended “to create a climate of belonging, of participating in the Church, through ever greater closeness with the Holy Father.”
The site allows users to become more familiar with Pope Benedict and his teachings – there’s links to the Vatican’s YouTube site, there’s Facebook and iPhone applications, and a link to H2O news. (S+L is a partner with H2ONews, which produces the video clips in conjunction with Vatican Television that are now available for the iPhone.)
Still with Vatican Television -- the president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli has been appointed to head the management board of Vatican Television. From the Wednesday General Audience to the Easter vigil, live events featuring the Holy Father that viewers enjoy on Salt + Light come via Vatican Television. Congratulations Archbishop Celli!
