Packing up the spiritual home

The reality of today’s Catholic Church is very different from decades past. It is common today to hear about cases of parishes being closed because of the lack of faithful. Listening to news of people who protest against the closures in some places, one can understand these people, but some times the change could be positive.
Change is always difficult because human beings like the comfort of stability. However a new community with new people to meet and share your faith with can help you to live your faith in a more engaged way.
Is it right to protest when you know your community is made up of a few parishioners moving to a parish a few blocks away means having better support and a more dynamic community? Some times change is the only way to move forward
This week on Perspectives weekly edition, Kris Dmytrenko and his guests Fr. James Mallon, founder and director of John Paul II Media Institute, and Fr. Jim Roche, Episcopal Vicar for the Diocese of London, Ontario, talk about their experiences with the closure of parishes and explain why this can be a good solution for the Catholic faithful.
Join us for this discussion, Friday on Perspectives Weekly at 7 and 11pm ET / 8pm PT. In the meantime, take part in the discussion on Facebook.
