Nobody loves you like He does:
A message of hope from Spanish-speaking Catholic artists

Salt + Light Media

Sunday, April 11, 2021

As the world continues to adjust to so many changes, Spanish-speaking Catholic artists from 17 different countries have come together in order to deliver this message of hope.
During these difficult times, may you find comfort in the arms of our Saviour and his Divine Mercy through this simple message of eternal love that we offer you together with our friends from Producciones Dynamis in Mexico.
Click on the video above. You can also scroll to the bottom of this post for the complete lyrics in Spanish and English.

"Nadie Te Ama Como Yo" (Nobody Loves You Like I Do) came into being on February 9, 1990, during an evangelization concert in a banquet hall in Chihuahua, Mexico. While singing a song about forgiveness, singer/songwriter Martin Valverde witnessed the reconciliation of a father and son in the audience. Deeply moved by that gesture, all he could hear in his head was the voice of Jesus asking him to “tell them how much I love them”. He felt he needed to do a quick prayer. The next moments are a blur as he describes not knowing what he was singing or what was happening for the closing of the concert. All he remembers is that while he was singing and playing, it was a moment of deep prayer for him and for the audience. When he “came to” there were various audience members in tears and on their knees. Afterwards, while watching the video of the performance, he listened to this song for the first time: a song that can only have been a gift from above. Today, 30 years later, the song is still very close to that original version.
It quickly became one of the most well-known melodies used for prayer and in various ministry settings. It has been sung around the world and translated into more than ten languages. There are millions of cover recordings. "Nadie Te Ama Como Yo" was the song that officially closed WYD2013 in Rio de Janeiro and was sung during the ecumenical concert by Martin Valverde and Alex Campos at the Vatican for Pope Francis. It is a song that has accompanied so many people over three decades.
Martin Valverde is one of the most popular Catholic singer/songwriters in Latin America, with a career that began in the early 80s in his home country, Costa Rica. In 1989 he moved to Mexico, where he now lives with his family and where his ministry, Producciones Dynamis, is based. He has over 50 albums, has authored nine books, and continues to be a sought-after speaker and evangelizer.
Martin says that this song is not just a great message of love; it is love that became a song. God’s love cannot be understood; it is accepted. It is not won; it is received. It is not a prize; it’s a gift.  This has become the central message of Martin Valverde’s ministry for the last 30 years.

Nadie Te Ama Como Yo (Nobody Loves You Like I Do)

Cuánto he esperado este momento,
cuánto he esperado que estuvieras así.
Cuánto he esperado que me hablaras,
cuánto he esperado que vinieras a mí.
Yo sé bien lo que has vivido,
sé también porqué has llorado;
yo se bien lo que has sufrido
pues de tu lado no me he ido.
Pues nadie te ama como yo,
pues nadie te ama como yo;
mira a la cruz,
esa es mi más grande prueba.
Nadie te ama como yo.
Pues nadie te ama como yo,
nadie te ama como yo
mira a la cruz,
fue por ti, fue porque te amo.
Nadie te ama como yo.
Yo sé bien lo que me dices
aunque a veces no me hablas;
yo sé bien lo que en ti sientes
aunque nunca lo compartas.
Yo a tu lado he caminado,
junto a ti yo siempre he ido;
aún a veces te he cargado.
Yo he sido tu mejor amigo.
Pues nadie te ama como yo,
pues nadie te ama como yo;
mira a la cruz,
esa es mi más grande prueba.
Nadie te ama como yo.
Pues nadie te ama como yo,
nadie te ama como yo
mira a la cruz,
fue por ti, fue porque te amo.
Nadie te ama como yo.
Oh, how I've waited for this moment,
how much I've waited for you to be like this.
How much I've waited for you to talk to me.
How much I've waited for you to come to me.
I know well what you've been through,
I also know why you've cried.
I know well the pain you suffered.
Because I've never left your side.
Nobody loves you like I do.
Nobody loves you like I do.
Look at the cross,
this will be my greatest proof.
Nobody loves you like I do.
Nobody loves you like I do.
Nobody loves you like I do.
Look at the cross,
it was for you, because I love you.
Nobody loves you like I do.
I know well what you say to me,
even if sometimes you don't talk to me.
I know well what you are feeling,
even if you never share (your feelings).
I've walked by your side,
I've always been next to you;
sometimes I've even carried you.
I've been your best friend.
