In the Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis invited every diocesan bishop to select some churches as "Shrines of Mercy", and their doors become "Doors of Mercy" for pilgrims to obtain special grace and strength to receive God's mercy.
In the new program "Door of Mercy", I will select dioceses from around the world and present these churches with a Door of Mercy. I will explain the history and significance of these churches, and share with you pictures of the churches that I took. I wish to encourage everyone to go on a pilgrimage during the Holy Year of Mercy, and to become agents of mercy.
The first episode of "Door of Mercy" brings you to New York City. The Archdiocese of New York has designated 5 churches with Doors of Mercy:
Cathedral of St. Patrick, New York City
National Shrine of St. Gennaro, New York City
Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, New York City
National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middletown
National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Stony Point
Please enjoy. English subtitles are available. (If you are using a computer, you can find the settings at the bottom-right corner of the video.) The Chinese version of the video is also available.
