Just a day after Pope Benedict XVI named 23 new men to the College of Cardinals, including Archbishop John Foley who Father Rosica recently interviewed for Witness, the Holy Father named two new Archbishops to Canada's east coast region.Archbishop Martin William Currie has been announced as the head of the Archdiocese of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an additional duty for the Archbishop who will continue as the Bishop of the neighbouring Diocese of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, where he’s been for the past seven years.Auxilary Bishop of Montreal Anthony Mancini will become the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Halifax and the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.I had the opportunity to speak with Archbishop-elect Mancini on the Thursday edition of Zoom, where he joined us from the Canadian Bishop's plenary assembly in Cornwall, Ontario.
