Rev. Alan Fogarty, S.J. has announced to the Board of Directors of Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation the completion of his term as Chief Executive Officer effective mid-November 2023.

Fr. Fogarty assumed the lead of Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation (Salt + Light Media) on August 1, 2020. Father led Salt + Light Media through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic period with an atmosphere of inclusion and awareness of socio-economic realties impacting the world and the Church. His one world/one environment position was intimately aligned with Christ and with Pope Francis' Encyclical letters: Laudato si' and Fratelli Tutti. His care and concern for the environment included Salt + Light Media's production of two documentaries on the reconciliation and healing that is part of Canadian culture and among the Indigenous in Canada and their relationship with the Church, as well as a documentary that looks at various ways carbon dioxide can be removed from the atmosphere.

The seeds sown these past three years will bear fruit and bounty through the continued work of the wonderful Salt + Light Media staff and Father's successor.

We offer Fr. Fogarty prayers of thanksgiving and gratitude for his service and on into his future mission as a member of the Society of Jesus.

During this time of transition, Alexander Du, Chief Operating Officer, will act as Salt + Light Media's Interim CEO. Alexander has been with Salt + Light Media since 2016 and previously assumed the Interim CEO role in 2019 until Fr. Fogarty's arrival in August 2020.
